Dog bites in Kentucky are kind of their own separate area of law. In Kentucky we have what’s know as strict liability in regard to dog bites. That means a person’s dog attacks and bites someone else, the owner of that dog is strictly liable. Another words there doesn’t need to be a showing that the dog had vicious propensities or that the dog’s owner knew that the dog was likely to attack and bite someone. If you’ve been attacked or bitten by a dog in Kentucky, you should contact a lawyer right away to learn what your rights are in regard to recovering damages for your pain and suffering, damages for medical expenses, loss wages if you missed time from your employment as a result of the attack.
