Victims of sexual assault have a right to sue the person that perpetrated that crime against them, and it’s just that, a crime, but it’s also a civil wrong that can be addressed in a civil court. If you’ve been the victim of sexual abuse while you were a patient or resident in a facility, then you should consult an attorney right away and particularly someone who has experience in this field because you shouldn’t have to suffer alone, and that wrong should absolutely be redressed not only in the criminal courts, but in the civil arena as well.
